Ebb Flow Slow - how I slowed down to find the beauty and joy in the every day ebb and flow of life and the river.

Come and join me at my exhibition featuring a new body of mixed media art, which I  have made throughout the last year in my years MA in Creative Practice.

This will be my first solo exhibition and features work in stitch, mixed media and paint, created in response to the theme ebb and flow, and spending time walking and sitting by the Thames Estuary locally.

As well as my own artwork, there will be a communnity piece I have made in collaboration with the Southend Seaside Stitcher group that I have been a member of since the start of the year. They have been kind enough to support and offer opportunities to lead a session and introduce this project.

Slow stitch, and slower making, is something which has become central to the way I make this year. It has offered an introduction to working in community, and to understanding more about the river, noticing the big and small changes and details of the flux of the estuary. The repetitive and meditative nature of stitching is one I am looking forwards to continuing and sharing, and I will have a small table for some stitching for any visitors who would like to try it out.

Artwork and gifts will be available to purchase, larger pieces will be available for collection at 4pm on the Saturday 18th July when the exhibition closes.
